DJ KSLY (K-Sly) is the first Asian female DJ to reach mainstream success. Her professional career spans from the start of the 90’s golden era to the present.

She began when DJing was considered a hobby, not a career. Before DJ booking agents, DJ schools, and social media stepped onto the scene, KSLY made DJing her life work. From the start, her eyes were set on multi-platform status as a Party, Radio, and TV DJ.

By disrupting the music industry, she put more women DJs on the map. Women represent roughly 20% of the DJ world today, and drastically lower for women of Asian descent. KSLY’s presence has been a trendsetting contributor to the rise over the decades.

She’s a part of Prism DJs, an female-led DJ agency. KSLY is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Her passion projects include Beats and Babies® and increasing awareness of child sex abuse and human trafficking. Now and throughout her career, she has guided her proteges, as she also made her way with the help of gracious people.

Like many, she dabbled in DJing as a youngin, but KSLY's formal career as DJ and on-air personality started at DB92-FM, a college station which reached nearly 80K listeners.

She went on to Atlanta's Hot 97.5 (now 107.9), where she co-hosted daily with actor/rapper Ludacris (Christopher Bridges); while she broke multiple southern acts. From there, she went west to Hot 97.5 in Las Vegas, NV, and then back to her roots in LA, at 100.3 The Beat.

Los Angeles opened the door to TV opportunities. She was making guest appearances with Ryan Seacrest, MTV, BET, and more. She was the co-host and DJ for the internationally syndicated show "Dance 360" with Kel Mitchell and Fredro Star. She was the announcer and DJ for "Steve Harvey's Big Time."

She then competed in the first nationally televised DJ competition, Smirnoff's "Master of the Mix" (Season 2). Throughout her radio and television career, KSLY has maintained residencies at clubs and events, including New Year's Eve at the Siloso Beach Resort in Singapore for 20K+ partygoers.

Being in the spotlight allowed KSLY to interview some of the most influential entertainers of yesterday and today.

The list includes Beyonce, TLC, Mary J. Blige, Monica, Ice Cube, Common, Jay-Z, Quincy Jones, Kendrick Lamar, Damian Marley, Pharrell, 50 Cent, Jamie Foxx, E-40, Stevie Wonder, Pitbull, Ciara, Snoop Dogg, and the late Rick James, to name a few.

Additionally, as MC, she has introduced the Hip-Hop and R&B elite to crowds of over 30,000, including Queen Latifah, Diddy, Kanye West, Nelly, Outkast, LL Cool J, RUN DMC, Lil Wayne, Will Smith, and many more.

Her musical taste creates an aggressive union of Hip-Hop, House, R&B, Dancehall, and Old School Funk. The assortment of genres brings about nasty dance floor business from arms up, fist pumps, wall-to-wall twerking, and good ole' two-stepping.
